Safe and Local Supplier Approval (SALSA)
SALSA is a not-for-profit venture between the four largest trade associations
in the UK Food Chain - "from Farm to Fork".
The Scheme, supported heavily by the Food Standards Agency; (FSA), many of the UK's leading retailers and food service providers, and in particular the Governments Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs; (DEFRA) answers the need for a robust and effective food safety certification scheme for mutual benefit of customers and suppliers; and those parties in between.
Overall, the organisation aims to improve food safety standards and help customers recognise the reputable brands manufacturing food and drink in the UK.
the Halal Monitoring Committee (HMC)
The HMC was established in the early parts of 2003 as a not for profit organisation. Setup, with the support of Fazila Foods to work in favour of the consumers of Halal Meat and Poultry produce, the Committee work to regulate; by consistent monitoring, thorough inspection and continuous checks before labelling and sealing the consumables as approved.
Serving HMC Certified products with Seal of Assurance helps to overcome many of the controversial and doubtful issues arising by providing the public with the unquestionable reassurance of genuine Halal produce; enabling everyone to enjoy Everybody's Favourite products with no limits!
